APC Technology continues collaboration with the South Australian Government to facilitate defence career pathways for university students.

We are delighted to welcome our latest intern, Aimy Tran into our engineering department.  She is a recipient of the South Australian Defence Industry Scholarship Program and our third intern from the program.

Aimy is currently in her third year at the University of South Australia studying Engineering, with a focus on electrical & mechatronics.

The South Australian Government-funded program supports the development of a defence-ready workforce by connecting South Australian university students with defence companies through scholarship placements.

“By creating strong partnerships between local defence SMEs and higher education institutions, the program supports local businesses to grow their skills base and create exciting career pathways for students in the defence industry in South Australia,” said Richard Price, Chief Executive Defence SA.

APC Technology’s Senior Engineer, Mukesh Chaudhari has seen the positive results of the program as one of the inaugural companies to participate.

“For the past two years, we have taken part in the scholarship program and seen first-hand the benefits for the company and the individual. We have been able to tap into the latest skills and knowledge being taught in an academic environment whilst providing the student with an opportunity to build their skills and experience through work-based learning.”

At the conclusion of each placement, the recipients have joined APC Technology permanently, resulting in in the expansion of our talent pool in the engineering team.

Aimy’s work experience will include exposure to the normal engineering and production workflows along with involvement in current and upcoming design tasks.
