Driving Innovation in Defence: APC Technology’s Role in LAND 400 Phase 3

APC Technology has been a key contributor to the LAND 400 Phase 3 Project, working in collaboration with Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) to design, engineer, and manufacture both the Australian Standard Generic Vehicle Architecture (ASGVA) screens and Large Briefing displays. These critical components are designed and produced in South Australia for installation within the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV) and Joint Fires (JF) vehicles.

Project Mobilisation and Prototyping Success

Craig Williams, Managing Director of APC Technology, commented on the company’s role in the project: “Our team has demonstrated exceptional engineering and manufacturing capabilities throughout the LAND 400 Phase 3 program.  Exceeding environmental testing standards and achieving key milestones highlights our commitment to delivering world-class defence technology. This project is a testament to Australian innovation and expertise.”

The project mobilisation commenced in mid-2024, initiating an extensive design and engineering phase. A two-part prototyping phase was successfully completed by early 2025, showcasing APC Technology’s ability to meet stringent defence project standards.

During the prototyping phase, APC Technology not only surpassed environmental testing requirements but also achieved key project milestones, including providing critical support for Hanwha Defence Australia’s contractual and operational needs.  These achievements further reinforced APC Technology’s reputation as a trusted defence supplier.

Collaboration and Future Innovation

“APC Technology’s expertise in designing and manufacturing mission-critical displays has been instrumental in achieving success in developing the mission system for the LAND 400 Phase 3 Project,” a HDA spokesperson said. “APC’s ability to deliver high-quality solutions that meet stringent defence standards ensures our platforms remain at the forefront of technological excellence. We look forward to continuing this successful collaboration.”

APC Technology’s project team continues to collaborate closely with HDA to drive innovation and enhance the capabilities of future defence platforms. This partnership remains focused on developing cutting-edge solutions that align with the evolving needs of the Australian Defence Force.

Scaling Up for Full-Scale Production

With the supply of equipment for the prototype vehicles successfully completed, APC Technology is now preparing for full-scale production, set to begin in 2026.

Through precision engineering, technical excellence, and a commitment to advancing defence technology, APC Technology remains at the forefront of delivering mission-critical solutions for the LAND 400 Phase 3 Project, solidifying its role in shaping the future of Australia’s defence capabilities.
